Living Sustainably Here Anthology Integrated into Ambassador Schools Curriculum

Nigeria May 25th, 2026

A groundbreaking multi-volume work bringing the SDGs to life through African voices

The Ambassador Schools Program is proud to announce the integration of the newly launched anthology Living Sustainably Here: African Perspectives on the SDGs into its curriculum. Curated by Olatoun Gabi-Williams and published by Selina Publications, the anthology was formally unveiled on 13th May 2026 at the Nigeria International Book Fair in Lagos.

This groundbreaking multi-volume work brings the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to life through African voices, blending journalism, reportage, life-writing, and advocacy.

Three Powerful Volumes

Volume 1: Paths to Knowledge

Production, Access, Literacy and Sustainable Development

Highlights the critical role of literacy and knowledge systems in Africa's sustainable future.

Volume 2: Our Digital Lives & Indigenous Pathways

Traces multiple routes towards The Africa We Want. Spanning digital platforms and ancestral practices, the essays show knowledge as something to be passed from one generation to the next.

Volume 3: Africa Under Pressure

Literature, Energy, Equity, Justice and Security

Opens onto a brilliant landscape of imagination and industry, of policy, protest, science and education. The book argues that literature is not a luxury in hard times, but a tool of clarity, resistance and renewal.

By adopting the anthology, Ambassador Schools will:
  • Empower students to engage directly with African perspectives on the SDGs
  • Strengthen reading culture and critical thinking among young learners
  • Stimulate the development of classroom, school and community SDG-focused projects
