Where Young Voices Drive Sustainable Change Across Africa

Launch Edition 2025 Olatoun Gabi-Williams

Our Launch

We're thrilled to launch the Blogposts hub of the SDG Ambassador Schools Program — an African-led platform inspired by the belief that young people are powerful agents of sustainable development.

Our Mission: Three Key UN Targets

SDG 4.7

Ensuring learners gain the knowledge and skills to promote sustainable development, human rights, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity.

SDG 16.2

Ending abuse, exploitation, trafficking, and violence against children.

SDG 16.7

Ensuring responsive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels.

What Students Learn

Debate global issues through the lens of their communities, states, and nations

Create speeches, performance poetry, and dramatic sketches that explore sustainability, safety, justice, identity, and inclusion

Build reading cultures powered by official UN SDG reading lists and openly shared knowledge

Produce 5-minute videos we can proudly showcase on the website when thoughtfully, ethically, and creatively produced

Encourage adults — teachers, librarians, and parents — to integrate the SDGs into education through indoor and outdoor learning experiences

This Space Is For Everyone

But this is not only a home for students. It is also for:

Educators

Shaping future citizens

Librarians

Democratizing information access

Parents & Guardians

Fostering critical thinking, responsibility, and empathy

Young Ambassadors

Ready to speak up, stand out, and drive change

Save the Date: 2026 Festival!

In 2026, we will host the first SDG Ambassador Schools Festival in Lagos, welcoming independent student ambassadors with a supervising adult.

Dates and details will be shared well ahead of time.

Call to Action

We invite schools, libraries, educators, parents, and young ambassadors (ages 10–19) to send in insightful, original, punchy, and inspiring blog posts on SDG themes.

Pro Tip: Use the Ideas Sheets and activity guides on the website to shape your stories, reflections, and community perspectives.
Let this blog amplify voices that say:

Sustainable cities need memory

Science needs culture

Progress needs justice

Our future needs you

Welcome — we can't wait to read your stories and showcase your brilliance.
