AMBASSADOR SCHOOLS

SDG Book Club Africa launched the Ambassador Schools Program (17th May 2021) to motivate children to read more and to provide them with quality books of a wide variety of genres, whose themes address principles of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Our Ambassador Schools help realize SDG 4 Target 7: education for sustainable development by encouraging healthy and creative engagement with the SDGs, both indoors and outdoors. At our Ambassador Schools, we seek to ensure that no-one, particularly children, the builders of our future, is left out of the global effort to make the world a better place. Children are our partners in the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Become an Ambassador School

Register your school to champion the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and empower students to become active global citizens. As an SDG Ambassador School, you will:

Receive guidance on establishing SDG clubs for students aged 6–12 and beyond
Access SDG Book Club Africa's reading lists and other African-published titles for young adults and adults from our Special Collections
Utilize Ideas Sheets and manuals to implement activities that uphold children's participation rights
Join a network of like-minded schools committed to sustainability and the SDGs

Become an Ambassador School Child

Even if your school is not yet an SDG Ambassador School, you can still join the movement! By registering as an SDG Ambassador School Child, you will:

Gain access to our online library, featuring a diverse range of genres and titles
Explore SDG Book Club Africa's reading lists and other African-published books for young adults and adults
Enjoy reading and learning about the SDGs, even if your school doesn't have a book club or isn't registered as an Ambassador School
Become part of a community of young leaders passionate about sustainability and global citizenship
